Insight San Diego Welcomes
Reuben Weiss
Amidst the depth and profundity of Dharma practice lies a clear and pragmatic task — understanding life’s difficulties in order to find greater freedom and happiness. Each class will include guided meditation instructions, a brief talk, and a question & answer period intended to be a community discussion. This class is intended for individuals under the age of 40 but is welcome and inclusive of all.
Through this class, we hope to help create a community of young(ish) practitioners who are interested in learning, discussing, and exploring the foundations of meditation and Dharma practice.
This class meets on Monday evenings beginning April 5, 2021, from 7:00-8:00 pm, but anyone is welcome to join at any time.
Reuben Weiss has had a committed meditation practice since 2012, and has primarily studied in the Theravada Tradition. He has sat numerous retreats with a wide range of teachers including Joseph Goldstein, Jack Kornfield, Carol Wilson, and Sayadaw U Tejaniya. Most recently, he completed a 13-month period of intensive retreat that included 7-months of self-retreat. He holds a B.A. in Political Science from UCLA, a M.A. in Social-Organizational Psychology from Columbia University, and is currently becoming a Trained Mindfulness Facilitator through UCLA’s Mindful Awareness Research Center. When not spending extended periods in silence, Reuben can be found drinking seltzer, running at the speed of walking, and listening to horrible music.
