The Young and the Deathless
We are a community of young(ish) practitioners interested in learning, discussing, and exploring the foundations of meditation and Dharma practice.
Our group is taking a Summer vacation until the end of September
ABout the Group
“I don’t envision any other single factor like friendship with admirable people as doing so much for a [person] in training, who has not attained the heart’s goal but remains intent on the unsurpassed safety from bondage. A [person] who is a friend with admirable people abandons what is unskillful and develops what is skillful.” -The Buddha, Itivuttaka 17Amidst the depth and profundity of Dharma practice lies a clear and pragmatic task — understanding life’s difficulties in order to find greater freedom and happiness. Spiritual friendship is one of the greatest supports for practicing the Dharma, and this group is intended to be a weekly gathering for individuals interested in learning the basics of meditation and sharing their practice. This group meets weekly, and each session includes guided meditation instructions, a brief talk, and a question & answer period intended to be a community discussion. This affinity group is intended for individuals under the age of 45 but is welcome and inclusive of all.
Additional readings and practices are offered weekly and no previous experience is required to attend. Drop-ins are always welcome. To supplement our group's activities, listen to the talks available via our our self-study page.
